Electronic Arts Pacific (EA Pacific) is the Irvine-based development studio for Electronic Arts (EA), Redwood City, Calif.  EA Pacific is the developer of "Command & Conquer Generals" for the PC, and "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2004" for PlayStation 2.

EA is the world's leading independent developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for personal computers and advanced entertainment systems such as the PlayStation®2 Computer Entertainment System, the PlayStation®, Xbox™ video game console from Microsoft, the Nintendo GameCube™ and the Game Boy® Advance.  EA has become the leading third-party developer on next generation hardware creating software for consoles and PCs.  Combining diverse media such as video, photographic images, motion capture, 3D face and body rendering technologies, computer graphics, and stereo sound with contributions from storywriters, film directors and musicians, EA uses technology and creativity to create mainstream entertainment through an interactive medium.

In addition to EA Pacific in Irvine, EA has development operations in Austin, Texas; Las Vegas, Nevada; Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek, California; Orlando, Florida; Vancouver, Canada; Tokyo, Japan; and London in the United Kingdom.

Arguably the most successful PC game company in existence today, Electronic Arts was established in 1982 by Trip Hawkins, first under the name of Amazin' Software.  Today, EA is the world's most profitable and leading publisher of games and interactive entertainment.

EA's Westwood Studios in Las Vegas is a leading developer and publisher of games and entertainment software.  By combining cutting-edge technology, enchanting graphics, and quality game design, Westwood became an established force in the world of interactive software. Currently, the company's most popular franchise is the "Command & Conquer " series, which has sold hundreds of thousands of units between the original "Command & Conquer, " an add-on disc ("Command & Conquer: Covert Ops"), and the game's highly popular sequel, "Command & Conquer: Red Alert."  Westwood's online service, Westwood Chat, has enabled thousands of players to wage C&C battles through the Internet, and has also brought a new level of popular culture to online gaming with the online version of the perennial board-game favorite "Monopoly."

In 1998, Westwood Studios became a part of EA.  Since then, Westwood's games have enjoyed unprecedented levels of exposure worldwide, thanks to EA's global publishing network.  Westwood's pedigree reaches from "Red Alert 2" all the way back to "Dune II," and "Command and Conquer" is one of the most recognizable and enjoyable series in real-time strategy (RTS) gaming.

Under the direction of Mark Skaggs, EA Pacific general manager and executive producer, EA Pacific has developed "Command & Conquer Generals" as the most recent extension of Westwood's premier strategy franchise.

"Command & Conquer Generals" is an RTS game set 15 to 20 years in the future.  It features three sides battling for world domination, along with some new twists for fans of the RTS genre.  Designed by the same team that handled "C&C Red Alert II," "General" contains controversial content, from a U.S.-China war using nuclear weapons, to an entity called the Global Liberation Army, an anthrax-toting, Arab-based terrorist organization whose tactics include hijacking vehicles and sending in suicide bombers.
